Families can expect a special hiking highlight on the Latemar which brings Obereggen, Pampeago , Predazzo, and hiking together in a family vacation: The Latemar.Natura Adventure Hiking Trail combines super-easy paths with minimum altitude differentials suitable for children and, in many cases, baby carriages – with fascinating alpine panoramas and numerous educational Adventure Stations.

The Dolomites: Hiking on the Latemar.Natura

In Obereggen, families and nature-lovers can enjoy an especially pleasant time. The Latemar.Natura Adventure Hiking Trail will lead you from the Oberholz mountain station via Trail No. 18 to the Latemar.360° outlook platform and the (in part) steep Trail No. 22. Once you reach the fork above the Absam-Maierl mountain station, continue on to the Mayrl Alm where you can stop for a rest. Via Trail No. 23, you can return to the mountain station – which forms the starting-point for more thematic trails in South Tyrol. Please note that Trail No. 23 is appropriate only for those baby carriages which have wheels suitable for gravel and forest paths.

Family hiking in South Tyrol / Trentino

Latemar.Natura will lead you through the dense alpine forest and over alpine grasslands. It’s a great way for younger hikers for familiarize themselves with high-altitude alpine habitats. When they play the wood tone game, they’ll learn the difference between Spruce, Swiss Stone Pine, Larch, and Alpine Maple. The bellows will allow them to identify the scent of Alpine Violet and Gentian. And the world’s largest hearing aid will enable them to explore the world of sounds in the mountains.
