Tour of the Cornon Mount
The path starts from the landing of the Agnello chair lift in Pampeago. Once you have reached the top, take path no. 509, which will take you through the hamlet of La Porta and then, if you follow its sweet ups and downs, it will take you to Baito “La Bassa”. Here you will take trail sign 525, which, among a mugo pine wood, climbs up to Dos dai Branchi and then slopes slightly down among breath-taking sceneries to the Sud dei Cornacci peak, where an impressive belvedere dominates the Fiemme Valley, the Lagorai Chain, Pale di San Martino, Cima d’Asta, the Brenta Dolomites, and much more.
After a short and quiet stop on a bench at the foot of the cross, you can start your way back. If you go back from the cross to the Armentagiola mountain pass, you will hike near the lodge with the same name along path no. 523, which, in the shades of a wood, will take you to Baito “La Bassa” and finally near the Armentagiola chair lift.
You may meet cows on the high mountain green pastures, as well as groundhogs, chamois, roe deer, deer, and, if you look up in the sky, even eagles. The entire path is particularly prestigious because it is immersed in the Alta Val di Stava, Site of EU Interest and Special Area of Conservation, which is relevant because of the presence of animal species, such as the glacier reptiles of the Alps, which have suitable living conditions here.
